Completed in 2012, the Regional Institute of Oncology Iași represents one of the most important medical investments developed within Romania’s public healthcare system after 1990. Designed as a monospecialty hospital unit, the institute provides patients from the north-eastern region of the country with access to integrated oncology services.
With more than 300 beds, 10 medical and surgical departments, a modern radiotherapy department and an operating block with 10 operating rooms, the Regional Institute of Oncology Iași was developed to support complex medical activity in a safe, functional environment aligned with current standards.
Within this project, Dacorum Grup contributed through the design, execution and integration of medical infrastructure, as well as through the supply of medical equipment dedicated to the efficient operation of clinical and surgical spaces.
The project included essential works for the operation of the institute’s medical infrastructure, with a focus on safety, operational continuity and the integration of technical systems into clinical spaces.
Development of medical fluid infrastructure, including main pipelines and reducer panels, adapted to the requirements of medical and surgical departments.
Surgical spaces configured for complex medical activity, with integrated infrastructure for safety, hygiene and operating team efficiency.
Technical systems dedicated to the production and distribution of medical fluids, essential for the continuous operation of departments and the operating block.
Integration of a patient-to-staff communication system, required for supervision, rapid response and efficient organization of activity within the departments.
A central component of the project was the design and execution of medical fluid routes. These systems support the daily activity of medical departments, surgical spaces and areas with high technical requirements.
Integrated elements:
Through this intervention, Dacorum Grup contributed to the development of stable, safe medical infrastructure capable of supporting the activity of a large oncology unit.
The operating block of the Regional Institute of Oncology Iași includes 10 operating rooms, developed to support complex surgical procedures in safe and efficient conditions.
Implementation directions:
The configuration and infrastructure integration of these spaces aimed to create a coherent operating environment, where technical systems, workflows and clinical needs function together.
The project included the implementation of medical fluid production and distribution stations, essential components for the continuous operation of a hospital with complex medical activity.
Role of these systems:
These stations were integrated to ensure the availability of medical fluids in the areas where they are required, contributing to the stability and efficiency of clinical activity.
The nurse call communication system was integrated to facilitate rapid contact between patients and medical staff. In an institute with multiple departments and a high volume of activity, efficient communication directly contributes to patient safety and the organization of staff interventions.
Supported functions:
Through the integration of this system, Dacorum Grup contributed to the creation of a safer, better organized hospital environment adapted to the needs of hospitalized patients.
The intervention carried out within the Regional Institute of Oncology Iași reflects Dacorum Grup’s capacity to contribute to the development of medical infrastructure for complex hospital units, where safety, continuity and technical integration are essential.
Through this project, medical fluid infrastructure, production and distribution stations, operating rooms and communication systems were aligned into a functional system dedicated to supporting oncology medical activity.
