Bacău County Emergency Hospital

Medical gas infrastructure and integrated equipment for the Emergency Reception Unit

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Bacău County Emergency Hospital is the largest medical unit in Bacău County, with a history of more than 170 years and a capacity of 1,475 patient beds, of which 75 are dedicated to day hospitalization and 39 operate within the Emergency Reception Unit.

Through its local and regional role, the hospital serves a wide range of medical and surgical specialties, acting as an essential access point to healthcare services for patients from the county and surrounding areas. The accelerated modernization process carried out after the communist period focused both on infrastructure and advanced integrated medical equipment, including the development of a newly built Emergency Reception Unit.

These upgrades helped transform the hospital into a safer and more efficient environment for patients, as well as a better adapted workspace for medical professionals. Within this project, Dacorum Grup provided solutions dedicated to the Emergency Reception Unit, through the integration of medical gas and fluid infrastructure, technical equipment, medical devices and medical furniture elements.

Dacorum Grup’s Intervention

The project focused on the development of medical infrastructure within the Emergency Reception Unit, with an emphasis on rapid access to medical gases, electrical power, support equipment and efficient organization at the point of care.

  • Bedhead medical gas terminal units

Daytime medical gas terminals in the form of bedhead trunking systems, integrated with lighting and electrical sockets for rapid use at the patient care point.

  • Medical gas distribution routes

Distribution routes executed and marked in accordance with European standards, ensuring safety, clear identification and coherent operation.

  • Pressure reduction and route isolation elements

Technical elements for pressure reduction and route isolation, implemented in accordance with European standards applicable to medical gas infrastructure.

  • Medical gas accessories

Oxygen humidifiers, flowmeters, vacuum regulators, oxygen therapy masks, Eurorail bars and other accessories required for daily use.

  • Medical equipment and furniture for the ERU

Supply of medical equipment and furniture elements to support activity within the Emergency Reception Unit.

Bedhead Medical Gas Terminal Units

The bedhead medical gas terminal units were integrated to support medical activity directly at the point of care. These systems bring together access to medical gases, lighting and electrical sockets in an organized format that is easy for medical staff to use.

Integrated elements:

  • medical gas terminal units;
  • bedhead trunking systems;
  • integrated lighting;
  • electrical sockets;
  • efficient organization of the care area.

This solution helps reduce clutter around the patient and creates a clearer, more functional and more efficient space for rapid medical interventions.

Medical Gas Distribution Routes

The medical gas distribution routes were executed and marked in accordance with European standards, ensuring safe, predictable infrastructure that is easy to identify during daily use.

Main components:

  • execution of medical gas routes;
  • proper marking of routes;
  • distribution to final points of use;
  • compliance with European technical requirements;
  • integration into the Emergency Reception Unit infrastructure.

These routes form the basis of the medical gas system, ensuring the connection between technical areas and points of use within patient care spaces.

Pressure Reduction and Route Isolation Elements

For safe infrastructure operation, the project included pressure reduction and route isolation elements. These components allow system control, isolation of specific areas and safe management of the medical gas network.

Integrated technical elements:

  • pressure reduction components;
  • route isolation elements;
  • technical control of distribution;
  • isolation by functional areas;
  • compliance with European standards

Through the integration of these solutions, the medical gas system was configured for safe, organized use, adapted to the requirements of a highly active medical area.

Medical Gas Accessories

Dacorum Grup also supplied the accessories required for the use of medical gases in daily clinical activity. These elements complete the technical infrastructure and support treatment, monitoring and rapid intervention in the emergency area.

Supplied accessories:

  • oxygen humidifiers;
  • flowmeters;
  • vacuum regulators;
  • oxygen therapy masks;
  • Eurorail bars;
  • support accessories for clinical use

These elements help prepare care points for immediate use in an environment where response time and access to medical resources are essential.

Emergency Reception Unit

The Emergency Reception Unit is one of the most demanding areas of a hospital, where infrastructure must support the assessment, stabilization and treatment of patients at a fast and continuous pace.

Within the project, the integration of medical gas terminal units, distribution routes, accessories, medical equipment and furniture aimed to support medical staff activity and create an efficient space for patient care.

Implementation directions:

  • rapid access to medical gases
  • electrical power at the point of care;
  • medical equipment and furniture for the ERU;
  • functional organization of intervention spaces;
  • infrastructure adapted to continuous use.

Through this intervention, Dacorum Grup contributed to the development of a better equipped, safer and more efficient Emergency Reception Unit for daily medical activity.

Project Outcome

The intervention carried out within Bacău County Emergency Hospital reflects Dacorum Grup’s capacity to deliver integrated solutions for medical infrastructure in high-activity areas with strict safety requirements.

Through this project, medical gas terminal units, distribution routes, control elements, accessories, medical equipment and furniture were aligned into a functional system dedicated to supporting the activity of the Emergency Reception Unit.

The result: safe, organized and compliant medical infrastructure, adapted to the real needs of medical staff and patients within the ERU.
