The Children’s Hospital built by Dăruiește Viața at Marie Curie Hospital in Bucharest represents a national first: the first children’s hospital built from the ground up in Romania through the involvement of 350,000 individual donors and 7,000 companies, as part of the #NoiFacemUnSpital initiative.
The project was designed to offer children a safe, modern and friendly medical environment, where treatment is supported by advanced technology and by a more human experience for both patients and their families. Child-oriented spaces, relaxation areas, rooms with beds for parents and integrated facilities contribute to a hospital model focused on care, comfort and trust.
Within this project, Dacorum Grup contributed through implementation and integration activities in the operating block area, delivering a complex medical solution adapted to the requirements of pediatric surgery and current standards of safety, hygiene and clinical performance.
The project included the execution and equipment of an advanced operating block, built entirely with glass, with five operating rooms and the integration of essential medical equipment and accessories required for complex surgical procedures.
Execution of the operating block structure, including perimeter enclosures and construction elements adapted to a modern surgical space.
Integration of automatic airtight doors, required for access control, hygiene and the maintenance of a controlled operating environment.
Implementation of control systems for environmental factors inside the operating rooms, supporting the monitoring and management of surgical room conditions.
Equipment of the operating block with built-in furniture designed for medical use, space optimization and workflow support.
Integration of video routing systems for managing images and visual information required during surgical procedures.
Equipment of the operating rooms with high-performance surgical lights, essential for visibility, precision and safety during surgery.
The operating block built entirely with glass is one of the defining components of the project. The solution was designed to meet the requirements of a modern pediatric surgical environment, where hygiene, spatial control and surface durability play an essential role.
Integrated elements:
Through this intervention, Dacorum Grup contributed to the delivery of an operating block with a high level of control, functionality and technical integration, adapted to a reference pediatric hospital.
Automatic airtight doors were integrated to support the operation of the operating block in a controlled regime, with efficient access and clear separation between functional areas. In a surgical environment, these elements contribute to hygiene, safety and flow organization.
Role of these systems:
These solutions were implemented to support the daily operation of the operating block and help maintain a safe environment for patients and medical teams.
The environmental control panel allows the management of conditions inside the operating room, contributing to the stability of the surgical environment and the efficiency of medical activity.
Supported functions:
This component is important in a modern operating block, where the environment must be adapted to the requirements of each procedure and maintained within safe parameters throughout surgical activity.
Custom built-in furniture was integrated to optimize the use of space and support the organization of equipment, consumables and instruments required for surgical activity.
Targeted elements:
Through this solution, the operating space becomes more organized, easier to use and better adapted to the working pace of pediatric surgery.
Video routing systems were integrated to support the management and distribution of images within the operating block. They allow relevant visual information to be transmitted to monitors or display points, supporting medical team coordination during procedures.
Targeted benefits:
In a modern pediatric operating block, access to clear and well-managed visual information contributes to precision, coordination and efficiency.
Surgical lights were integrated to ensure optimal illumination of the operating field. In pediatric surgery, where precision and visibility are essential, high-performance medical lighting directly supports the safety and quality of surgical care.
Targeted characteristics:
This equipment completes the operating block infrastructure and contributes to the performance of surgical procedures in safe and efficient conditions.
The intervention carried out within the Children’s Hospital built by Dăruiește Viața at Marie Curie Hospital Bucharest reflects Dacorum Grup’s capacity to contribute to reference medical projects with high requirements for safety, technical integration and clinical performance.
Through the execution of the operating block structure, the integration of automatic airtight doors, environmental control, custom built-in furniture, video routing systems and surgical lights, Dacorum Grup contributed to the development of a modern pediatric surgical space, functional and adapted to complex procedures.
Implementation period: 2021 – 2023
